Is Mozilla firefox and antivirus protector too?

I dont know much about anti viruses and I cant currently get on with AVG or Kapersky that the computer shop insisted on installing on my laptop.

Mozilla Firefox is an internet browser, nothing more. By that I mean it does not include any protection whatsoever.

You have to download and install an antivirus. You strike me as a novice at this, I strongly recommend you get someone to help you with all this at first, until you learn the ropes. We can give all manners of tips here on yahoo answers but if you’re not yet experienced, you might find it hard to set it up.

Having said that, I recommend Avast Antivirus over AVG any day, and Kaspersky seems a bit underhanded as a protection software.

Avast, on the other hand has a smaller memory load than AVG, meaning it’s faster with less resources. And overall it’s a good antivirus protection, even if you just get the free version. The free version having most features included in it’s category among all antivirus programs.
