removing the Earth Antivirus from my windows 2000 professional?

My computer was recently hit with the earth antivirus i tried getting the virus off using the verizon internet security suite but this didnt help at all. I also tried removing the program from the computer from the program removal but this didnt help either. What should i do to get this annoying virus off my computer. i would appreciate the help

George, just because Windows 2000 is a legacy operating system, that does not mean that it does not have its uses for many people. Now, I use a program called Malwarebytes to remove viruses, and it has always worked quite well for me. The download link is put below. You need at least a 250MHZ processor and at least 64mb of RAM as well as 3 MB available on your hard drive. This application is compatible with Windows 2000. Update the program before you use it, and it should get rid of any virus you are having difficulty with.
